Waltherpark: the Bolzano construction site reopens and prepares for underground works

ork has resumed at the construction site for the Waltherpark urban redevelopment project in Bolzano. With Heliopolis, the 70,000 square metre area will be redeveloped to include green spaces, shopping areas, underground roads and extended pedestrian routes.

After a temporary interruption, preliminary works have resumed for the construction by 2021 of the tunnel in Via Alto Adige, an operation requiring significant preparatory works.

Such a large and important building site in the heart of Bolzano requires the prioritisation of issues such as work sustainability, participation and information – in short, the smart city principles that inspire Heliopolis in everything that it does.

The aim is to reduce traffic disruption to a minimum, but as some changes and interruptions will be inevitable, the company is committed to providing effective communication, both to prevent disruptions and to raise awareness about the project.
