Pavia’s former Necchi area: new regeneration projects are met with enthusiasm

n the wake of the surveys involving the area of the former Necchi factory of Pavia, Paolo Signoretti met the City Council to discuss the new proposals to be undertaken with the company PV01.RE s.r.l., headed by Heinz Peter Hager.

The cornerstones of this complex area’s redevelopment are those underpinning Heliopolis’ guiding principles, namely sustainability, heritage conservation, efficiency and inclusion.

The goals expressed at the round table were shared by all those present, with a particular focus on the removal of architectural barriers so as to ensure the district becomes an innovative link between the suburbs and the city centre, drawing also on the dynamic energy of the nearby city of Milan.

As occurs in the Japanese art of Kintsugi, the former Necchi area is currently a “crack” that will be “repaired” and enriched with new urban regeneration projects, without ever neglecting its considerable historical value.

A golden scar that will make Pavia shine with renewed splendour.
