t’s with these words that Mozambique’s anchor-woman opened the news report on Heliopolis’ Minigrid – Off Grid project.
The Niassa government spokesman, Jose Manuel, later stated: “The infrastructure is about 50% complete. As you know, work on this power station began on 17/05/2019 and is expected to be completed by 24/11/2020. The power station will improve rural electrification in our Province”.
The journalist concluded: “The Matchedje power station, together with the small hydroelectric power plant in Meponda, will increase Niassa’s electricity production by 1%”
